Bunco Social Comes to Carroll Gardens, A Tested Playbook

By BLAKE MORGAN · October 17, 2026

It’s no secret that people are spending more time alone. Hosting is out of the question for most, and invites are scarce. After finding a group of friendly neighbors in Carroll Gardens, I’ve realized that leaving the bars and actually forging community is the next chapter. It can be so easy to just show up, have a few, and then head home. Routine dulls connections, though, and Bunco is the fix.

In Charlotte, I tested this idea thanks to Abigail’s grandmother insisting it was a fun game we should play. She was right. The rules take 60 seconds to explain, and you get to interact with everyone involved throughout the game. In an ideal scenario,  12-20 people come together and mingle and leave feeling connected.

I’m hoping to get a Bunco Social started in November and test this theory. I’m betting people want unique experiences. Let’s see if I’m right.
